THE SHIFT FROM A WASTE TOWARDS A RECYCLING SOCIETY
The Montanuniversität Leoben (MUL) is Austria’s resource university. As primary resources become scarcer and more expensive, MUL is a pioneer with respect of the shift from a waste towards a recycling society. The Chair of Waste Processing Technology and Waste Management (AVAW) represents the MUL within EURELCO. AVAW covers all aspects of secondary resources, ranging from collection via processing to disposal or valorization as well as from household waste to mineral and metal waste from the industry. AVAW consists of the work groups of “Landfills, Contaminated Sites and Slags”, “Waste Fuel” and “Waste Treatment / Future Waste” and the accredited laboratory. MUL offers a wide range of studies in this field, especially “Industrial Environmental and Process Engineering” and “Recycling Technology”.
