NEW PROCESSES FOR SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTION AND RECYCLING

InsPyro improves metallurgical processes by research-based industrial projects and services and develops new sustainable high-temperature processes in cooperation with its customers.

InsPyro is a consulting company aimed at technical improvement of existing high-temperature processes, as well as conception of new processes for sustainable production and recycling of metallic and inorganic materials. Established in 2009 by the management team of 2 PhD’s, the company has a broad experience in both research and short-term focused industrial projects. Combining process modelling with advanced characterization as well as with industrial tests and experience, InsPyro has already been able to provide support to over 30 companies in 7 countries, amongst which some major lead, zinc, copper and slag producers and recyclers.

Specifically relevant to this consortium, InsPyro has worked on several projects on slag chemistry, new metallurgical processes (e.g. plasma), and slag mineralogy for further use. InsPyro has experience in European cooperation (FP7 Eco-innovation) through its participation in the RecoPhos project, which is aimed at the recovery of phosphorus for sewage sludge ash using an innovative high-temperature packed-bed reactor. InsPyro has also participated in locally funded research projects (IWT) on metallurgy, slag reuse, and techno-economical process optimization.

Welcome to EURELCO

EURELCO is an open, quadruple helix network that supports the required technological, legal, social, economic, environmental and organisational innovation with respect to the development and implementation of a Dynamic Landfill Management (DLM) framework. The DLM framework includes resource recovery-driven Enhanced Landfill Mining (ELFM) as one of its most advanced components, thereby supporting the transition to a resource efficient, circular, low-carbon economy. Are you a relevant actor working on DLM or ELFM?
