NEW RECYCLING AND SUBSTITION POSSIBILITIES FOR RARE AND CRITICAL MATERIALS

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is the leading organization for applied research in Europe. Its research activities are conducted by 66 institutes and research units at locations throughout Germany. The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft employs a staff of nearly 24,000, who work with an annual research budget totaling more than 2 billion euros. Main customer and contractual partners come from the industry and service sector as well as from the public administration.

The Fraunhofer Project Group for Materials Recycling and Resource Strategies IWKS, headquartered in Alzenau and Hanau, explores new recycling and substitution possibilities for rare and critical materials. Together with industry partners, new technologies for the recovery and sorting of recyclable materials are being developed. Our core competences are divided in three business divisions: Sustainable Material Cycles, Substitution, and Resource Strategies and Criticality Studies.

Welcome to EURELCO

EURELCO is an open, quadruple helix network that supports the required technological, legal, social, economic, environmental and organisational innovation with respect to the development and implementation of a Dynamic Landfill Management (DLM) framework. The DLM framework includes resource recovery-driven Enhanced Landfill Mining (ELFM) as one of its most advanced components, thereby supporting the transition to a resource efficient, circular, low-carbon economy. Are you a relevant actor working on DLM or ELFM?
