SUSTAINABLE USE OF NATURAL RESOURCES AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT

The mission of the Estonian University of Life Sciences (EMU) is to guarantee sustainable use of natural resources and enhance rural development. It is the centre of research and development in such fields as environmental technologies, forestry, agriculture, rural life and economy, food science, animal science and veterinary science. EMU consists of five institutes, and it aims to provide its students a broad, research-based education.

Department of Water Management is the pioneer in education and research in solid waste management in Estonia. The department belongs to the Institute of Forestry and Rural Engineering. The mission of the Institute is to develop academic higher education of forestry, natural sciences, geomatics, civil engineering and water management.

Landfill Mining project at Kudjape has demonstrated a need for applying interdisciplinary knowledge, characteristic to many departments at the University of Life Sciences.

Welcome to EURELCO

EURELCO is an open, quadruple helix network that supports the required technological, legal, social, economic, environmental and organisational innovation with respect to the development and implementation of a Dynamic Landfill Management (DLM) framework. The DLM framework includes resource recovery-driven Enhanced Landfill Mining (ELFM) as one of its most advanced components, thereby supporting the transition to a resource efficient, circular, low-carbon economy. Are you a relevant actor working on DLM or ELFM?
