In this framework, waste and resource management is a topic that has become increasingly important. The view on waste management is evolving, as economic changes require businesses to be more efficient. Pressure from society also requires businesses to adopt a greater level of environmental responsibility and transparency. As a result, closed loop thinking needs to be an integral part of any business.

ERM has created an international waste management practice, to assist clients on waste related challenges around the globe. Having 27 offices in 13 European countries allows ERM to keep close track of local evolutions on waste and landfill management, further complemented with ERM’s global knowledge and experience. ERM supports clients on different aspects:

• Environmental: the waste management practice has gained extended experience on life cycle assessments, cost benefit analysis and carbon emission quantification;
• Social: ERM supports clients with the stakeholder mapping and stakeholder engagement for large construction and (re)development projects around the globe;
• Economical: ERM assists clients on the management of their portfolio and with the related legacies. This may also include delivering sustainable solutions integrating both remediation and site redevelopment.
